Mitra has been my go-to financing guru for years. In 2017, she helped me to acquire a low rate on my second home. It can be difficult and intimidating to share all your personal financial information with someone, but working with Mitra is comforting. She is easy to talk with and has lots of experience, she answered all my questions to ease my concerns, and she made me feel like my mortgage transaction was important. Now my home has greatly increased in value, and through her advice, she has helped me think creatively about how to expedite paying my high interest debts by securing a cash out refi at an even lower rate that will enable me to pay off over $50,000 of debt which will save me thousands in interest over time, and I'll be saving about $1,000 per month each month! Mitra and I share a strong interest in real-estate and passive income. After many years of talking about how to generate passive income, I made the leap and now have a rental unit. The event is held in a small, intimate group session so everyone feels comfortable opening up and sharing valuable life experiences that impact and shape our beliefs and feelings about money. "Money Talks" is a space where diversity, inclusion, respectful opposing opinions and sharing are truthfully welcomed not just lip service. The Money + Mindset workshop with Mitra was awesome. It was mind opening and I am looking forward to the next event. It was very enlightening to discuss details of my relationship and psychology that I have with money. This is so important, because you need to be able to understand this and face it head on to have a healthy relationship with money. There are so many things that we all make time for, but I often think that we do not invest enough time for workshops such as this. It is worth it and Mitra knows her stuff. She is not only knowledgeable, but very personable and someone who wants to see you succeed. In addition to this, it was great to be around lovely people who share the same interest. I learned a lot not just from Mitra, but from individuals at the workshop who shared their personal experiences as well. When I reached out to Mitra about coaching, I was really in need of help. I felt like if I didn't make a change soon, I would lose everything thing that I have worked so hard for. I have traveled, done incredible business, made some great friends and enjoyed some amazing food. All sounds great in social realms and makes great conversation, but there has been a dark side to my life. Despite my efforts to recharge my lifestyle and be content with my accomplishments, I realize that there is something or things that lie deep inside that are hindering my growth. For years I have been so diligent in making things work by any means necessary, that I have never fixed my problems. I hide behind a huge work effort and ability to do business and connect with people that no one ever notices my dysfunction. I, like many black men, have not had formal financial training other than “you have to do what you have to do in this world to make it.” I have done just that... survived! I’ve made some sound financial decisions, but nothing to give an early retirement. I’ve been broken down on the inside and in need of "fixing." I’m not at bankruptcy or anything like it, but I have noticed how that can happen over time by a lack of taking action and investing in one's self. Through doing the self work with my coach, I have come to see how my issues are deeply rooted, but curable. I help others every day and I do well, however I needed it this time. Mitra was the first to come to mind for help. Since showing up for myself, she has helped to put me on a path of healing and increased awareness to have a sound financial future in which I can thrive.

I've been trying to get my finances in order for a while now. Progress has been slow and has fluctuated over a year now. After attending the workshop, I realized there are things, both positive and negative at the root of my perspective on money, how I spend money, and how I prioritize money in my life. I have to recognize and confront the subconscious thoughts of lacking to break free from years of growing up in a lower-mid economical class family/community. Currently, I feel like I have to get this money thing right in order to provide for my family (current and future). That is ALOT of pressure at times. Especially when the social pressure is placed on men. "Men have to be the financial provider", you hear this all the time. Creating a self narrative stating, I have to have it all together financially in order to be "The Man". This was my first time attending Mitra’s workshop. I was nervous about attending because I did not know what to expect but after arriving, I felt very comfortable and confident in sharing my story. The atmosphere is very inviting and everyone was so nice and respectful. Everyone had their own background/story and everyone’s story touched your heart and helped you understand that everyone’s money journey are sometimes the same and sometimes different but that there is nothing to be ashamed of. After the class ended, I immediately went home and closed a total of 5 subscriptions saving me $400 a month that did not benefit my life and am starting to get my money in order.
